Muddy Boy.

Oh the weather outside is...not so delightful. But once again I am reminded of how nice it is to be teaching here in Toksook Bay, a village with beautiful scenery. Being able to go outside and walk about on a road as opposed to a slippery boardwalk is a blessing.

Having a roommate that encourages me to walk my dog off leash after a full day of hard work is another blessing. It's not an easy task to take Bogart out for a walk and then come back in with the task of getting the mud off. But, it's a small price to pay for his presence, so to speak.

Working with a couple of teachers that have our "did you just see that?" moments and getting each others' looks is a great blessing. Receiving packages from loving parents that help keep me plugging along is wonderful blessing. All of these blessings help make my "placement" here in TBay a whole lot more "doable."

Right now with PFD's coming out- there's a lot of upheaval in our village. I see parents leaving  to do some major shopping in Anchorage, families planning to move to  other villages, and other changes that seem make it s a rough time for my students. Thankfully we have Fall Festival coming up and following that Thanksgiving Break and after that....CHRISTMAS!!!

As my cohort suggested last week, sometimes our school year requires a "holiday to holiday" kind of mindset. Well, that is where I am currently at. I am chunking this year up until I am able to see familiar faces once again in November! But thanks be to God for His protection in my classrooms and for provisions until I am back in the big city:)
