Moose!

It has been a looonnnnggg day! But a productive one. I was able to get make some headway with my new dual language environment and along the way I ran into the rest of the Nelson Island School staff that I have not seen in town yet. It was good to be reunited with my favorite aides and see smiling faces all around.

It is now 7:30 p.m. and I still have lots to do. The classroom is coming together, I just have to now lesson plan for two grades. I think that this is going to be one of those weeks where I am just going to have to roll with whatever comes my way.

Thankfully I was able to get a couple of breaks in to see my favorite buddy at home. Dawne, my new roommate, joined us in a walk that truly was awe inspiring as I spotted two moose running up the hill. The moment I spotted them, I yelled, "Moose!" and got Dawne's attention. Moments later everyone and their mother came flying down on their quads to see if they were bulls or cows. I have never seen so many of the community members at one time other than a feast. It was so cool to stand and watch the moose travel up the hill and get to chat with some of the locals ( all while making sure that Bogart wasn't aout to get run over by the quads) driving by. One of them jokingly commented that Bogart must be a moose due to his size- I am just glad that he doesn't resemble a wolf anymore:)

So now it's back to work- fun times as I am feeling a little bit like I am pulling an all-nighter in college:)
